What is a profile set
Profile pages have always been an institution in the yearbook industry. They are a fair way to present all the students / staff / teachers of your school at the same level. In these pages everyone has:
- 1 photo (or more)
- Their name
- Their class
- A few questions & answers about them (including quotes, memories, etc.).
In the past, yearbook makers had to collect and lay out all this content themselves. With Fusion, this process has been streamlined to save time. You can now:
- Set up a template (choose the number of students per page, photos per students and the info you want from them).
- Collect content online (create a questionnaire, invite people to answer online and review their responses).
- Generate all your profile pages at once (all your profiles will be laid out in the same template and the profiles ordered in alphabetical order).
Create a profile set
In the Create section, select Profile set and click Add.
To set up your profiles, click on its Pencil icon. Type in the name of your profile set (it can be a class, the school staff, teachers or whatever you want) and click on Save to proceed.
Select a profile set template
Define your number of students per page. Then, select your favourite template (you'll be able to customize it later as explained here).
Add, edit, delete profile questions
The whole purpose of creating a profile set is to be able to send an online questionnaire to your students, teachers or staff and then, to populate all their content at once in a beautiful template made by you.
Once you're done with selecting a profile set template, you'll have to add your questions and ask the photos you want (academic photo, funny photo, baby photo, etc.). Below is an example:
Customize your profile set template
Customizing your template comes right after. You have your template base, your questions and photo place holders, now it's time to adjust the look of your template. You can achieve that in a few steps:
> Set up your fonts first and click save.
> Choose a background by clicking on Edit. It will open the page editor to let you choose or design the exact background you want. Save again.
> Generate a page preview to see how your page will look like. Once satisfied, click on Save to proceed to the next step.
Invite students to answer your questionnaire online
With a special access code, everyone can fill their own profile from home or anywhere.
> Set up a password and copy the link (don't forget to save!). You will give them to your students so they can fill their info online from home or anywhere.
Once link is accessed, students should type the password. Then, they can answer the questions and upload their photos. Each of your student can take 5 minutes to do this.
After submitting their information, they will see a confirmation message telling it's all done.
Visualize and edit student responses
Once students have submitted their info, review it and edit it if needed.
Click on Review Responses.
You'll see a tab with all the information submitted by your students. You can make edits if needed (replacing bad quality photos, fix spelling problems, etc.).
Delete a student profile
When the Review Responses window loads, simply look for the name of the profile you want to delete and click on the corresponding Trash button near it.
Generate profile set
When you're ready, click Generate Profile Pages.
When generation is done, all your profile section will be created (depending on your total number of students).
Example: if you have 10 students per page and 200 students in total, you will have 20 pages automatically created.
You can reproduce this process for each class if you'd like, unless you prefer to keep only one profile page for the whole school.
