Using Fusion involves having yearbook team members with various roles. Upon logging in, you may notice that you can't seem to add new pages or edit all of the pages in your yearbook. This is because you may have been assigned as a Contributor.
As a Contributor you can view all pages but can only edit pages that your Head Editor assigns to you. Whatever page gets assigned to a Contributor is solely up to the Head Editor's discretion. Assigning you with contributor role also enables you to focus only on certain sections rather than the whole yearbook.
Here is a guide on how to navigate through Fusion as a Contributor:
01. Identify assigned pages
As mentioned above, Contributors can only access the pages assigned to them by the Head Editor. If your Head Editor did not specify which pages are assigned to you, you can:
- Contact your Head Editor and ask him/her what are your assigned pages
- Hover your mouse pointer over yearbook pages and if the Pencil icon appears on them, it means that those are assigned to you.
- Contact our Support Team and and they'll identify the pages assigned to you from our end.
02. Click on the Pencil Icon
Once you've identified which pages are assigned to you, click on the pencil icon to start editing. Clicking on the Pencil Icon opens our Page Editor.
03. Choose Layout
Once the Page Editor loads, you will notice that there are template or preset layouts available for your use. To get you started, feel free to browse in our Library and then choose your favourite layout by clicking or dragging it onto your page.
Don’t fret if you see a dollar sign on the layout, that’s because most of the layouts are using premium stock images to give you a better idea of the end result. Keep in mind that all our layouts are free. Simply apply the layout and replace all the images with your own photos!
04. Add your photos
To add and use your own images, click on the Uploads icon.
Once that’s done, drag your photos onto the page, just like this!
You can even:
- Crop your photo.
- Add a filter or adjust brightness settings
- Move, resize or rotate it.
05. Add your text
To add your text, simply select a text box on the page and replace it with your own.
You can choose to type or copy-paste it straight in. You can also style your text as you like:
- Choose from over 150 fonts
- Adapt the font size
- Move, resize and rotate your text blocks
- Add or delete new titles, subtitles, text blocks
Change the background
You can easily change your page background.
- Simply click on the background icon
- Choose your favourite background
- Click, or drag it onto your page.
If you’d like, you can also use one of your photos as a background. For this, go back to your uploads tab, drag a photo onto your page and click “Back” to layer it behind everything else. You’ll be able to edit your photo as you like to change it into a very nice background!
